MARINE BIOTOXINS - OCCURENCE AND METHOD OF ANALYSIS

 

S u m m a r y

 

In the paper group of five marine biotoxins occuring in bivalve molluscs were described. Marine biotoxins may occur intoxication after consuming toxic molluscs. There are PSP – Paralitic Shellfish Poisoning, DSP – Diarrhetic Shellfish Poisoning, AZP – Azaspiracid Shellfish Poisoning, NSP – Neurotic Shellfish Poisoning and ASP – Amnestic Shell fish Poisoning. Eating bivalve molluscs, mussels and oysters became more popular in Poland so possibility of intoxication consumers is higher. In article the source of marine biotoxins is indicated, methods of detection and law regulations concerning production and distribution of bivalve moulluscs as a food.
